Win a Pocket Movie Camera Through Socks Inc. Twitter Contest

To coincide with the launch of Socks, Inc., Awkward Hug has found it in their hearts to offer ARGNet readers a chance to win all the tools necessary to join the fun in style. So put your talents at tweeting to the test for a chance to take home a portable movie camera and Super Awesome Sock Making kit.

The Socks, Inc. Twitter Contest
Socks, Incorporated needs your help to come up with tweet sized commercial tag-lines for the game! They will award a Super Awesome Sock Puppet making kit complete with a Sanyo Full HD 1080 Pocket Movie Camera to the person (or sock) with the best Socks, Inc. themed Tweet. Mr. Barnsworth is taking time from his busy schedule of hanging out with underwear models to judge the contest himself!

To enter the Socks, Inc. Twitter contest, all you need to do is:

• Write and Tweet a commercial tagline for Socks, Inc.; and
• Make sure to include the Socks, Inc. website, http://socksinc.com, and the hashtag #argn

Mr. Barnsworth will be judging on creativity, so go nuts!

The deadline for submissions is Thursday, May 19th, 2011 at 11:59PM EST. ARGNet and Awkward Hug will contact potential winners via twitter on May 23rd. Read on for the Official Rules.

SOCKS INC TWITTER CONTEST RULES

ELIGIBILITY
This contest is sponsored by Awkward Hug. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY to win, and purchases do not increase the odds of winning.

This contest is available to residents of Canada and the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (excluding U.S. territories) who are 13 years or older as of the beginning of the contest period on Thursday, May 19th, 2011 at 11:59PM EST. Awkward Hug and ARGNet employees, contractors, and immediate family are ineligible to win.

CONTEST ENTRY
To enter the Socks, Inc. Twitter Contest, post a tagline for Socks, Inc. on Twitter.com, making sure to include the phrase “http://socksinc.com #argn”. If the entrant has selected the “Protect my tweets” option in Twitter’s privacy settings, entrant must follow @socks_inc before tweeting so the contest administrators can receive the entry. While entrant may unfriend the @socks_inc twitter account at any time, doing so before the end of the contest period may invalidate the entry. Entrants may enter as many times as they wish, but doing so will not necessarily improve the quality of their entries. Entrants assert their entry does not infringe on the intellectual property of another.

Entrants will retain copyright in their entries. By entering you agree to grant Awkward Hug a Creative Commons Attribution license to share and remix your entry, with attribution. The contest winner gives permission for their name and sockpuppet likeness to be used without compensation for narrative, advertising, and/or promotional purposes. Awkward Hug and ARGNet may maintain a list of contest entrants and their entries: however, neither party will use this list to contact entrants for future contests or promotions.

Entries must be posted by Thursday, May 19th, 2011 at 11:59PM EST. Awkward Hug and ARGNet are not responsible for lost, delayed, incomplete or misdirected entries. Odds of winning depend on the number [and quality] of entries received.

SELECTION
The winning entry will be chosen by Awkward Hug on or about Monday, May 23rd, and will reflect their vision of the best Socks, Inc. themed tweet. Entrants will be judged on creativity, but must comply with Contest Entry rules. The potential winner will be notified via twitter through a Twitter Direct Message from the @Socks_Inc twitter account. If the @Socks_Inc twitter account cannot send a Direct Message to the potential winner, Awkward Hug will provide notification through a Twitter post from the @Socks_Inc account that includes the potential winner’s twitter account handle.

The potential winner will have 72 hours after notification to confirm compliance with the Contest Rules. Failure to comply may result in forfeiture of the prize, causing Awkward Hug to select a new potential winner.

Contest Prize
The Socks, Inc. Twitter Contest winner will receive a Super Awesome Sock Puppet making kit from Awkward Hug, including:
-1 Sanyo Full HD 1080 Pocket Movie Camera;
– 2 High Quality Designer Socks;
– Felt and Pre-cut mouth cardboard;
– Hair; and
– Other accoutrements including googly eyes, pipe cleaners, and buttons.

Only one prize will be awarded. The total estimated retail value of the prize is $275. No prize substitutions, cash equivalent, or transfer of the prize are permitted. Entrant is responsible for any costs not specifically included in the prize description including, but not limited to, all taxes.

All prizes will be awarded, and decisions of the Awkward Hug judges are final. For the name of the winner, contact [email protected] by June 19, 2011.

Personal Information
Awkward Hug and ARGNet will not collect personal information from non-winning entrants other than twitter handles from entrants. In order to mail the prize, Awkward Hug will need to ask the winner for his or her name and address. If the winner is under the age of 18, Awkward Hug may request permission from a parent or guardian.

Choice of Law
Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Official Rules and/or this Contest shall be governed by the law of the State of New York.
